The constellation of instruments, of which the ensemble
miXte consists, can hardly be recognised as one of the
most traditional in chamber music. Even so, numerous
composers have written music for this constellation, which
may be described as follows: A symphony orchestra
consist of strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. One
representative for each section could be cello, clarinet,
trombone and piano. This combination of instruments gives
an unusually broad palate in sound; as miXte as it can be!

The musicians are not necessarily all together on stage
all the time, and the name of the ensemble also refers to
the constellations that are created as for example duos or
trios.
With a repertoire stretching from baroque music to
contemporary composers, miXte offers an extraordinarily
broad selection of musical experiences, considering
variations in instrumentation as well as in musical style.
This has been one of the main ideas of the ensemble since
the very beginning. |

miXte has played many concerts all over Denmark, of which
the Danish Radio have transmitted a few. In the coming
season, miXte has been, amongst other things, engaged to
play a series of concerts with the Danish soprano Susanne
Elmark. These concerts are played in co-operation with the
Danish Radio and FrederiksbergFonden.
